WHY
CODEWATCHDOG

Three questions: Why are you better? Why are you private? Why don't you store code? Direct answers below.

01Why we are the strongest option on the market 02Why we operate as a private, invite-only service 03Why we never store your code and what that means for you
// 01 — The market case
WHY WE ARE THE STRONGEST OPTION
Existing tools target developer-written code. Vibe coding is AI-generated — a different input entirely. We are built around that distinction from day one.
The core problem with every existing tool

Static analysis tools — SonarQube, Semgrep, ESLint — match rules written for human code. AI generators produce plausible, well-formatted code that passes those rules while hiding subtle trust issues, missing edge cases, and logic that almost works.

AI review bots are circular: an AI reviewing AI shares training data, assumptions, and blind spots with the generator. No adversarial layer exists. Traditional security firms are enterprise-only — expensive, slow, and built around procurement cycles that outlast most shipping timelines.

What we do that nothing else does

We layer AI and human review in the right order. The AI scan runs first — fast, structured, using prompts tuned for AI failure modes, not generic vulnerability rules. It produces a categorized, severity-ranked report.

A senior engineer then reviews that report alongside your code. They validate findings, find what the AI missed, and apply adversarial judgment no model provides. Every finding in the final report has a severity rating, explanation, and a specific implementable fix — not a suggestion, not a documentation link.

Reviewer matching

We don't assign whoever is available. Solidity goes to someone who has audited Solidity in production. Node.js auth goes to someone who has found broken auth in production systems. Domain expertise determines whether a review is useful or just thorough-looking. A reviewer outside their domain catches obvious issues. They miss the subtle ones. The subtle ones are what kills you.

Pricing that makes sense

Every review is scoped and priced before work begins. No hourly rates, no subscription tiers, no enterprise contracts required. If the scope changes, we discuss it before continuing — not after the invoice.

Tool Type Core limitation CodeWatchdog
Static analysis tools Rule sets pre-date AI-generated code. No context, no intent, high false positive rate on AI output. Prompt engineered for AI-specific failure patterns. Human reviewer validates context.
AI review bots AI reviewing AI is circular. Shared training data means shared blind spots. No adversarial thinking. Human judgment is the adversarial layer. The reviewer has no shared bias with the generator.
Security firms Enterprise-only. Five-figure minimums, months of procurement, not designed for fast-moving teams. Same caliber of reviewer. Per-project pricing. No contract required to start.
Freelance marketplaces You vet the reviewer yourself. Quality and methodology are unpredictable. No structured output format. Pre-vetted, stack-matched reviewers. Consistent methodology. Standardized reports.
// The verdict
No other service combines AI analysis purpose-built for AI-generated code with a matched senior engineer review, structured output, and per-project pricing. That combination doesn't exist anywhere else.
// 02 — Access model
WHY WE ARE PRIVATE
We're not a public SaaS. Scan access requires a code. Human reviews are selective. This is deliberate, not temporary.
Quality requires control

Open access means managing volume. Volume means degraded quality, slower responses, imprecise matching, and templated reports. Every project gets a reviewer matched to that exact stack and domain. That's only possible because we control the pipeline. Controlled access is what makes that guarantee real.

The reviewer network is limited by design

Every engineer passed an evaluation before being matched to client work. We don't add reviewers to meet demand — we add them when we find the right person. Twenty rigorously selected engineers beats a marketplace of two thousand.

We can say no

A public service accepts everyone. We don't. If a project falls outside our network's expertise, we say so instead of assigning a poor match. If scope is unclear, we ask before starting. Being selective protects the quality of every engagement, not just yours.

How to get access to the AI scan
Request via the contact page — select Beta Access — AI Scan. We send access codes within 48 hours. No waitlist, direct decision.
How to request a human review
Submit project details via the contact page — stack, codebase size, and what needs reviewing. We respond within 24 hours with scope and a fixed price. No commitment required.
// The verdict
Quality and scale are opposites when the work depends on human judgment. We choose quality. That means we're not right for everyone. For projects that do come through, the work is done properly.
// 03 — Data and privacy
WHY WE DO NOT STORE YOUR CODE
Your codebase is your competitive position. We have no reason to store it, so we don't. Design decision — not a privacy clause.
01
What happens to code during an AI scan
Code goes to the Claude API, gets analyzed, result returned. We never write raw code to our database. We store scan metadata only — language, score, session ID, timestamp. Code is discarded after the API call. Close the browser, it's gone.
02
Anthropic's data handling
Anthropic doesn't use API inputs to train models — covered under their API data processing terms. Your code is processed and discarded. Not logged, not stored, not referenced after the request completes. Verify at anthropic.com/privacy.
03
What happens to code during a human review
Code is shared directly with the assigned reviewer via a channel agreed at the start of the engagement. Nothing uploaded to shared platforms or communication tools without your approval. The reviewer receives what's needed for the review — nothing more.
04
Infrastructure
Everything runs on Cloudflare Pages and Workers. No analytics. No session recording. No tracking pixels. Infrastructure selected specifically to minimize data footprint. API keys and access codes are stored as Cloudflare environment secrets — never in source code.
// Legal protection — NDA
We sign a mutual NDA before any code is shared for human review.
Not a request you need to make — it's the default. Before any code changes hands, both parties sign a mutual NDA. We are bound as well as you. It covers your code, architecture, and any business logic disclosed during the engagement.
// Step 01
Before any code is shared. The NDA is signed at the start of the engagement, not after. No code moves until documentation is in place.
// Step 02
Mutual obligation. You are protected. We are also bound. Neither party can disclose the other's information. The agreement is symmetrical.
// Step 03
Reviewer-level confidentiality. The assigned reviewer operates under the same confidentiality obligation as a condition of working in the network. Your code does not leave the engagement.
// The verdict
We don't store code because we have no reason to and every reason not to. The NDA is standard because undocumented trust is just an assumption — and we don't ask you to assume anything.
